THIS IMAGE WAS BANNED FOR OVER 30 YEARS
When Mother Murphy's first opened in 1968, it was the first business of its kind selling function glass pieces along with a wide range of trending merchandise.
Around the early 70s, the founders Betty and Charlotte created this image which was a cartoon characterization of both partners. It quickly became Mother Murphy's most iconic image.
Then, in the early 90s the nation went on a campaign against MJ and the culture surrounding it. Bong Time Gran fell victim to this campaign as it was said to promote the use of MJ and therefore was not allowed. Mother Murphy's was given an ultimatum. Get a new logo or get got.
This is where our current logo comes from as Gran holds a corncob pipe.
However times change. And peoples perceptions of things change as well. Now after more than 30 years of being out of circulation, we are stoked to be bringing back one of the most iconic pieces of our history that almost got us shut down.
Get your original Bong Time shirt today and rock the banned image that defined a generation!
